2015 Lima Foxtrot Programs for Injured Military at Lakeshore Foundation

Thank you for all of your referrals for the Lima Foxtrot Programs at Lakeshore Foundation. It is our hope that all of the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Coast Guard and Airmen have been able to learn and grow in their recoveries and adjustments to life after injuries. Lakeshore Foundation is pleased to announce the 2015 dates for its Lima Foxtrot Programs for Injured Military. Please feel free to share the information in this email with your contacts and those you serve. To be eligible for Lima Foxtrot programs, the service member must have sustained a severe physical injury during their time of service on or after September 11, 2001. Both active duty personnel and veterans are eligible. Travel to and from Birmingham, Ala., lodging, activities and meals are included in each program at no cost.

Operation Perseverance - March 4-8, 2015

Operation Preserverance is for military personnel who have sustained physical injuries for an introduction to Paralympic sports. Clinics will be led by Paralympic athletes and coaches. All skill levels are welcome. Sports scheduled to be included are Archery, Biathlon, Cycling, Powerlifting, Shooting, Sitting Volleyball, Sled Hockey, Swimming, Tennis, Track & Field and Wheelchair Basketball. Operation Refocus - April 22-26, 2015

Operation Refocus is a program for servicewomen who have sustained spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, vision impairments, amputations, burns, and/or disfigurements. As a female-only event, it gives an opportunity to address the needs which are specific to women and activities focus on the mind, body and spirit. Operation Night Vision - May 27-31, 2015

Operation Night Vison is designed for servicemen and women who have sustained a significant eye injury or vision loss. There is no cost to the servicemen and women who qualify and he or she can bring one guest. This operation is made possible by funding from Wounded Warrior Project. Operation United Front - June 24-28, 2015

Operation Unitied Front is an opportunity for families of severely injured servicemen and women to recreate together with other military families. Qualifying injuries include but not limited to spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, vision impairments, amputations, burns, and/or disfigurements. All children must be at least 5 years old or older. Provisions for larger families made on a case-by-case basis. This operation is made possible by funding from Bob Woodruff Foundation. Operation Down Home - July 8-12, 2015

Operation Down Home introduces the entire family of servicemen and women who have sustained a significant injury or vision loss to recreational sports opportunities. Qualifying injuries include but not limited to spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, vision impairments, amputations, burns, and/or disfigurements. All children must be at least 5 years old or older. Provisions for larger families made on a case-by-case basis. This operation is made possible by funding from Wounded Warrior Project. Operation Alpha - August 5-9, 2015

Operation Alpha is designed for servicemen and women who have sustained a traumatic brain injury. There is no cost to the servicemen and women who qualify and he or she can bring one guest. Operation Rise and Conquer - September 23-27, 2015

Operation Rise and Conquer is an extended outdoor adventure weekend for servicemen and women who have sustained a significant injury or vision loss. The weekend begins at Lakeshore and moves on to Lake Martin, located near Alexander City, Ala., for a variety of challenging outdoor recreation activities. Qualifying injuries include but not limited to spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, vision impairments, amputations, burns, and/or disfigurements. There is no cost to the servicemen and women who qualify and he or she can bring one guest. This operation is made possible by funding from Wounded Warrior Project.
